Last night at the Starlite, somebody conked Earl, the handyman, out cold. They'll be fine, but they'd like a word with whoever did it. Each suspect was in a different spot with a different object.

Make your accusation
One shot only. You can flip more clues first.
How to play
Alibi is a daily pocket-sized whodunit set at the Starlite Motor Lodge, a pastel roadside motel somewhere in 1962. Somebody conked a guest on the head. You have four suspects, four places and four objects, and a stack of clue cards. Work out who did it, where, and with what.
Each suspect was in a different place, holding a different object. One of them is the culprit.
Clue cards start face down. Flip them one at a time. The first is free; after that, each one lowers your score.
Use the logic grid to keep track: tap a square once to rule something out (β) and again to confirm it (β). Confirming crosses out the rest of that row and column for you.
When you're sure, pick a suspect, a place and an object, and make your accusation. You only get one.
A correct accusation scores 100, 85, 70, 55, 40 points for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 clues flipped. A wrong one scores nothing. Every case is checked by a solver before it's published: all five clues always lead to exactly one answer, and you never actually need all five. Most cases can be cracked with three or four, if you read them carefully.
Watch for clues about the deed itself (βIt happened by the ice machineβ) and clues about everyone's whereabouts (βNeither Chet nor Opal was in the lobbyβ). The trick is usually combining the two.
